Pictured above is a partial copy of the 1920 Census of the United States from the Cedar Springs Precinct of Cherokee County Alabama.  Note in the middle of the page , James Fuller Head of family 52 years of age, followed by Della his wife  at 41 years of age. The children are listed as Robert age 22, Effie age 18, George age 15, Julia age 13, Albert  age 10, Joe age 7, Rosie age 5, and Ruby age 2 and 4/12.  John and Hattie have left the family. A zoomed in portion of the census form is shown below.

Elsewhere in the Cedar Springs Precinct of Cherokee County, Alabama for the 1920 Census we find at the bottom of the census form James and Hattie Fuller Henderson with two children; Theodore (my father) age 4 and Daisy age 1 and 5/12. There are some other interesting data on this particular sheet.  Just above James Henderson, we find the family of his oldest brother Nathan with wife Etta. and just above Nathan we find Arthur.  Now Arthur was really Arthur Garfield Mason who had married one of Nathan and James's sisters Luna. The census enumerator for whatever reason listed Arthur as Arthur Henderson.  The enumerator may have misheard or we also see listed in Arthur's household  James, Nathan and Luna's father and mother Elijah and Elizabeth Henderson (listed in the census as Lige and Elizabeth).  Again Elijah was my great grandfather.  In this census, he is listed as 74 years old.  Another intriguing fact from this 1920 census is the youngest son of Arthur and Luna Mason, Gilmer.  Gilmer married Ruby Fuller who was a much younger sister of Hattie.  This makes Linda Mason, daughter of Gilmer and Ruby, a double cousin to all of us who count Hattie Fuller Henderson as our grandmother.   One final note about the above census form.  Jeff Henderson and Robert Henderson and their families are listed at the top of the form.  I believe they are not in our family line.  I can't totally rule that out, but no proof as yet exists.
