The Henderson Family Reunion of March 25, 2006, Part 1

The annual Henderson family reunion was held on March 25, 2006 at the home of Sammy and Carol Hunter Conrad on Keysville Road East in Lithia Florida.  There was a great turnout of over 100 people including relatives and friends. The reunion is held every year closest to the Saturday of the birthday of my fraternal Grandmother, Hattie Louise Fuller Henderson.  The pictures below will show some of the families and the whole gathering.  We were certainly happy to have Aunt Wilma Henderson McGowan back with us this year and were especially proud of Aunt Betty Henderson Wunderlich who looked great.  We were sorry the band did not get to play this year as two of the band members had to attend to an ailing father who had taken a fall.  We were however, very happy that Steve Houston could interrupt his training and fly down from Virginia for the reunion and oh yeah, his 25th wedding anniversary.  We sang Happy Birthday to Delaney Duket.  We were pleased to have my brother Jerry Henderson again this year. We were very pleased to welcome Private Charles D. Hamilton of the U.S. Marine Corps.  Charles is the great grandson of Carlos and Mamie Henderson Hunter.  Thank you Carol and Sammy for your great hospitality.

At the 2006 Henderson Family Reunion,  Aunt Nellie Hunter Henderson read a poem entitled "The Henderson Family Reunion". She had written the poem exclusively for the 2006 Reunion.  She revealed some hidden talent that I did not know about.  Click here to view and read her poem.
